ORIGINAL artworks went on display to mark the spring opening of Bristol University’s Botanic Garden in Stoke Bishop.

Paintings, drawings, prints and cards created by local artists were featured in the display, with visitors also able to buy the pieces.

The garden was also open, including the glasshouses filled with exotic plants from places such as the Amazon rainforest and South Africa, and a display was set up to show tropical food and medicinal plants.

Regular garden opening days will now be from 10am to 4.30pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, as well as Saturdays from June to September.
