Printer problems

A Little Rock printing company has accused Hewlett-Packard Co. of causing a paper jam with its company.

Big Impressions LLC said it lost thousands of customers and at least $1.5 million as a result of acquiring the HP Scitex FB 6700 printer, which is also known as a CoreJet and used for heavy-duty industrial production.

The problems for Big Impressions started back in April 2007, when it bought the assets of Digital POP Solutions of Chicago. Included in the purchase was the printer.

HP Scitex is the only company that produces and services the machine. HP inspected the equipment and made some recommendations for repairs.

Big Impressions wanted the repairs made, but it said HP dragged its feet with the installation and the repairs, according to Big Impressions’ lawsuit, filed in U.S
